Add a little bit of colour - 14 December 2018

So we took on a HUGE project . . . to repaint and fix the buildings of Ban Makrud School.  It is not the kind of project one takes on if you do not have much knowledge of paint and building experience but there is no better way than to step out of your comfort zone and
learn.  The project is divided in three phases.  The first phase is to paint and fix the classrooms.  Second phase is to fix the kitchen are and to build a new stage for the school as the current one (wood) is falling apart and are very dangerous to walk on.  Third phase is to paint the outside walls of the school.

The state of some community schools here are in shocking condition and no student will feel motivated to sit in a classroom falling apart.  As children, most of us had the privilege to go to a descent school with descent buildings. Me and Marina's hearts cry out to our children here at Ban Makrud to have the same experience most of us all had in attending a beautiful school.  And also to be proud of their school.  The children of Ban Makrud truly deserves it.

We prayed about the project and God is provided the necessary funds for phase 1 already. As you can see from the first three pictures  how some of the five classrooms look like.

In faith we started with the first classroom this week.  We cleared everything out of the room and started fixing and painting.  Tavisak (our church pastor here in Kanthararom) offered to help Frontida with the project.  It is good for the church as well to get involved into community projects.

The finishing of the first classroom:
We painted with colours that will not just brighten up the classroom and feel a bit open but also with colours that the students and teachers like.  In fact, we allowed the teachers to choose the colours for the school and we just improvise on how to use it.  Each classroom will look different.

The children were moved to the above classroom as we started their own classroom and they just thoroughly enjoyed the new classrooms.  The students are very happy and excited and can't wait till the whole project is finished.

Still lots of work to be done in the next month but we are excited and privileged to be able to do this project.  Without your prayers and support we would not be able to do this project.  Please pray with us for the rest of the necessary funds that we need for phase 2 and 3 - we will really appreciate it.
