Newsletter January 2016 - Frontida Outreach

Dear friends,
Well, it's a new year and everyone has New Year’s resolutions and more . . .  But the Word of God has been the same for thousands of years and will forever be the same.  All that changes is the doctrine that we receive every day as we study the Word of God on a DAILY basis.

Christmas 2015. . .
We previously shared with you that we would not be able to spend Christmas, and for many Christmas’s in the future, with our family and loved ones.  Reason being is the renewal of our visa’s beginning February and also the preparation of documents during the month of December/January.  So we celebrated our first Christmas here in Thailand with the community of Kanthararom.   We praise the Lord for an incredible time, experience and participation during the Christmas period.  God blessed us with three Christmas functions we could have with various communities here in Kanthararom sharing the true meaning of Christmas.  And listen to this . . . we could bless more than 92 children  and individuals with a wrapped Christmas gift.  We praise God for His provision, His love and caring - not only for us, but more importantly, for  the lost.   We have so many testimonies to share about Christmas that has passed, but to put it all down on paper will not justify the emotions and experience of it.  Thank you for each of your prayers, contributions and support given.   We really appreciate it.

Fantastic news. . .
We told you of the ministry house (Ban Frontida) God provided us with at the end of November 2015.   Slowly but surely we are working in fixing up the house suitable for our ministry from where we can work.   In December we received the news - we were asked (without knowing about the house) by YWAM Thailand if we (Frontida) would be the YWAM base for the Sisaket province.   We are so excited about this because it opens so many doors for us.   Well, the responsibility that goes with it is important but we know this comes from God and we feel so "honoured" to be chosen by Him to be His YWAM base here in Sisaket.   LOTS OF WORK lies ahead now and we are looking forward in expanding God’s Kingdom work here in the Sisaket province of Thailand.

Illness. . .
In the last month we suffered a bit with various illnesses.  Marina's back pain that she experienced the last six months is much better but she still has severe pain now and then in her left hip and shoulder.  Several prescribed medications have been used, physiotherapy sessions and more, but the real cause of the pains could not be established here by the local doctor’s.  They are still trying to put all the "puzzle pieces" together.  The pain restricts her from participating in some activities though.  We are still praying every day for Marina.  On the other hand, I had severe kidney and urine infection (luckily not kidney stones).  It was not a very nice feeling or situation that my body found itself in.  Lots of prayers, two courses of antibiotics and lots of water took care of the problem.  Thanks to all of you who prayed with us during this time.  We really do appreciate it.

Home visit to South Africa. . .
We are privileged to be able in spending two months of visiting our family, friends, supporters  in South Africa during the months of March and April.  We will be arriving in South Africa on 29 February and will be available from 6 March to 28 April.  We return back to Thailand again on the 2nd of May.  If any of you would like to have a cup of coffee with us and spend some time together for a chat or so, please contact us via email (frontidaoutreach@gmail.com) or WhatsApp  Marina on +66949802311 or +27832357296 so that we can arrange a date and time.  We already have several appointments and invitations to share testimonies and spending time together.  We know it sounds so formal now and that is really not how we are, but our time in South Africa is so short and would like to spend as much time possible with everyone.   Our preliminary dates to visit Gautang are 29 March to 4 April.  We will be traveling by car (from Cape Town) and would like to say hello to those on route to Gauteng.  There is a possibility that we will head back to Cape Town via the Eastern Cape.

Prayer requests:
Friends, we still trust in God for the car we needed.    We will appreciate your prayers for His grace and provision for this.
Please pray for our preparation for our home visit to SA.   Many arrangements this side must be taken so that the home ministry and home care (garden etc.) can carry on during our absence.
Please pray for the children here in Thailand and especially in our region that are so easily tricked into "Human Trafficking."   Please pray that God will keep stop the epidemic worldwide which is a BIG problem.
